In October 2008 after 25 plus years of searching I found Agathia Atkins, lead singer of the legendary vocal group the HIDEWAWAYS. Unfortunately Mr. Atkins passed away in 2007. However, I met with his wife, two of his five sons and a number of his other family members. Presently my staff and I are researching the history of Mr. Atkins and other members of the group. We're going to his former high school, neighborhood and contacting singers who knew and sang with him and I have leads on at least one other member of the group who hopefully still survivies. Mr. Atkins was a life long professional musicians and his family is in possession of a lot of vintage photographs and recordings that he made over the past 40 years. Sometime in the future I hope to write an article and if I can get enough material produce a documentary on Mr. Atkins and his legendary group, The Hideaways. Stay tuned.
